With the Kano scheme, students receive a poster and stickers with their membership.
Until January 2009, Akitas had given all stickers straight to the students. However, along with the attendance badges, Akitas have now implemented a syllabus to help students see their progression in yet another way (gradings and merit badge scheme being the alternatives).
It was decided that as there were 12 stickers per pack, only one sticker could be achieved per month, in order. If the sticker of that month is not achieved then it simply rolls over to the next month. In the second year of Kano membership, the 'B' series of stickers are then available to the students.
Testing for the stickers is done without much (if any) awareness from the student; Akitas decided that this scheme would benefit more from students achieving without suffering failure as they may do in alternative schemes. The syllabus is intended to work in tandem with and support both the Kano and Mon syllabus - preparing students for their grades. However, there is a strict syllabus, as detailed below:
