Daki Ko Soto Gake

Daki-ko-soto-gake - Hugging Minor Outer Reaping

Daki-ko-soto-gake, another Kokusai-shiai-waza, is simply executed. Tori enters for a Ko-soto-gake, and either through an initial in-effectual technique, or to increase the initial techniques effectiveness immediately, tori 'hug's uke.

The 'hug' can be as shown above, or with the hands gripped to ensure an uncomfortable landing for uke. Either way, tori's shoulders are used to force uke to the floor. The feel of this technique is much like a high (and probably illegal!) rugby tackle.
