Kata Hiza Seoi Otoshi

Kata-hiza-seoi-otoshi - Single Knee Shoulder Drop

Kata-hiza-seoi-otoshi is also known as Kata-hiza-zuki-seoi-otoshi and is simply the classification of a seoi-otoshi that has one knee to the ground. Obviously, seoi-otoshi can be executed without dropping to a knee, both knees as in ryo-hiza-seoi-otoshi, or either knee for a kata-hiza-seoi-otoshi.

This is another member of the kokusai-shiai-waza.

As with Kata-hiza-tai-otoshi, I personally would avoid dropping onto the supporting knee due to damage that could be caused.

Currently, due to the new rule changes, only the over 12's are allowed to perform this technique.
