Kata Hiza Tai Otoshi

Kata-hiza-tai-otoshi - Single Knee Tai Otoshi

Kata-hiza-tai-otoshi is another kokusai-shiai-waza, and one that was performed often before the new categorisation. Simply perform the tai-otoshi as normal, but drop to either knee to increase the drop to the floor and thus the speed of the technique.

My personal preference would avoid dropping to the floor such as in the first version shown above, as this can cause unnecessary damage to the knee.

Currently, due to the new rule changes, only the over 12's are allowed to perform this technique.
