Soto Mata Seoi Otoshi

Soto-mata-seoi-otoshi - Outer Thigh Shoulder Drop

Soto-mata-seoi-otoshi is simply a seoi-otoshi (or, in this case a ryo-hiza-seoi-otoshi) where the technique has not worked quite to plan and so the arm that was under the uke's arm grabs hold of the outer thigh of uke to aid in the throw. Although this is possible with other versions of Seoi-otoshi, but is not as likely as the ryo-hiza-seoi-otoshi - particularly as this may become a hiza-soto-muso.
